Упаковка и комплектация

Планшет поставляется в скромной бюджетной упаковке белого цвета, на лицевой стороне находится изображение устройства и молодёжные аксессуары, которые символизируют о направленности девайса на молодых людей. Технические характеристики находятся на противоположной стороне коробки, также там можно найти некоторую информацию о производителе о стране происхождения планшета.

Внешний вид и особенности

Дизайн устройства изысками не отличается, совершенно обычный моноблок с экраном 8 дюймов. Рамки вокруг экрана средней ширины, держать удобно, случайных нажатий практически не бывает. Ориентация экрана вертикальная, но из-за операционной системы куда удобнее и привычнее использовать Acer Iconia Tab 8W в горизонтальном положении. Планшет полностью выполнен из пластика, цвет белый. Материал из-за своего цвета довольно маркий, так что нужно быть готовым периодически протирать заднюю крышку. Качество сборки хорошее, скрипов и люфтов не замечено.

Габариты планшета составляют 128 на 214 мм, при толщине 9,8 мм. Размеры не самые маленькие для 8 дюймового устройства, но всё же громоздким оно не ощущается, в руке лежит удобно. Переносить удобно как в сумке, так и в большом кармане. Вес планшета, кстати всего 370 грамм.

Элементов на лицевой стороне не много, в нижней части находится серебристый логотип компании-производителя, а сверху небольшой глазок фронтальной камеры. Её разрешение составляет 2 млн. пикс., но качество совсем не радует, если для общение в Skype вполне подойдёт, то для качественных «селфи» использовать планшет вряд ли получится.

Задняя крышка корпуса из матового пластика с мелкой структурой, что способствует более надёжному хвату. Крышка не цельная, в верхней части имеется участок из серебристого пластика.

Пара динамиков расположились в нижней части задней крышки. Звук неплохой, но на максимальной громкости слышны ощутимые хрипы. В верхней части можно заметить основную камеру, она не имеет автофокуса и вспышки, разрешение всего 2 млн. пикс., качество фотографий очень плохое, приведу несколько примеров по ходу обзора.

По периметру корпуса проходит серебристая полоса из пластика, которая переходит в участок на задней крышке. Решение неоднозначное, куда симпатичнее было бы сделать монолитный корпус.

Экран

Acer Iconia Tab 8W оснащается 8 дюймовым экраном с разрешением 1280 на 800 пикселей. Экран изготовлен по технологии IPS со всеми вытекающими от этого плюсами. Разрешение для подобной диагонали вполне достаточное, отдельных пикселей не видно, иконки ровные, текст чёткий. Воздушная прослойка между стеклом и экраном присутствует. Яркость экрана высокая, её запаса хватает для использования практически в любых условиях, кроме, пожалуй, яркого прямого солнечного света. Цвета яркие, насыщенные, картинка выглядит отлично. Углы обзора ожидаемо широкие, всё-таки IPS. А вот с равномерностью подсветки проблемы, имеются значительные засветы по углам и краям экрана, которые бросаются в глаза в темноте при отображении чёрных цветов.

Операционная система и софт

Плюсом планшета является его операционная система. Тут установлена полноценная Windows 8.1 версии Pro (32-битная). Но есть в этом и нюансы, если вам нужен планшет для работы, то ОС будет большим преимуществом, ведь за десятки лет существования Windows для неё написано бесчисленное множество программ, а вот с играми могут возникнуть проблемы. Оптимизированных игр под подобные девайсы не так уж много, так что для развлечение лучше купить планшет на Android или iOS. Также проблемы возникают и из-за небольшого экрана, всё-таки Windows сделан для экранов в разы больше. Если с плитками работать ещё удобно, то с классическим интерфейсом и мелкими иконками очень сложно, попасть с первого раза по ним практически невозможно. Также без подключения клавиатуры и мыши тяжело печатать текст, экранная клавиатура мелкая.

Предустановленного фирменного софта немного, но он есть. От Acer тут имеется дополнительный магазин приложений, сервис для хранения данных в облачном хранилище, программы для работы с документами самых различных форматов и плееры для видео и фотографий. Кроме того есть не фирменные приложения вроде Flipboard или Kindle.

Производительность и память

В основе устройства лежит четырёхъядерный процессор Intel Atom Z3735G. Данная платформа предназначается только для установки в планшеты, отличается очень низким энергопотреблением менее 4 Вт. Процессор работает на частоте 1,33 ГГц, при активации турбо-режима частота повышается до 1,83 ГГц. Платформа построена по нормам 22-нм техпроцесса, работает с 32-битным одноканальным контроллером памяти, максимальный объём оперативной памяти 1 ГБ. Благодаря повышенной производительности за один такт Intel Atom Z3735G значительно производительнее своих предшественников, например, Intel Atom Z2760, и может конкурировать даже с такими платформами, как AMD Temash и Kabini APU. Для повседневных задач, таких, как офисная и интернет-работа, производительность приемлема, но не для очень сложного программного обеспечения или современных игр. Воспроизведение графического контента обеспечивает интегрированная видеокарта Intel HD Graphics, построенная на архитектуре Intel Gen7. Данная платформа поддерживает DirectX 11 и работает на частоте 646 МГц. Таким образом, GPU уступает HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge) и может справиться только с относительно неновыми играми. Тем не менее, ускорение видео и прочие мультимедийные приложения данным чипом решаются легко.

К моему удивлению основная часть используемых мною тестов на Acer Iconia Tab 8W либо не запустилось вовсе, либо закрывалось с ошибкой после прохождения какой-то части теста. Но о производительности даст впечатление и тот набор тестов, что удалось сделать.

В LinX видим производительность процессора в районе 4 ГФлопс, что довольно мало, даже самые слабые современные десктопные процессоры показывают результаты значительно выше. При прогоне теста температура процессора составила около 80 градусов Цельсия, при этом задняя часть корпуса также стала довольно горячей. В простое температура процессора колеблется около 60 градусов.

В тесте SunSpider JavaScript планшет показал результат 491 мс, что сопоставимо, например, с Apple iPad mini 3 или Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2.

В тесте AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark скорость чтения из памяти составляет 4757 МБ/с, а скорость записи 4672 МБ/с. Такие результаты вполне характерны для одноканального режима работы модуля памяти DDR3 с частотой 1333 МГц.

Для оценки способностей графики запустим 3DMark. В пакете тестов IceStorm планшет набрал 12828 баллов, что совсем немного.

Камера

Камера тут «для галочки». Основная имеет разрешение 2 млн. пикс., без автофокуса, вспышки, да и каких-либо настроек, вовсе. Фотографии получаются очень тёмными и плохого качества, даже текст разобрать едва ли можно.

Автономность

Для обеспечения автономной работы Acer Iconia Tab 8W используется литий-ионная батарея ёмкостью 4600 мА*ч. При смешанном режиме использования планшет беспрерывно работает около 7 часов, что совсем немного. В режиме воспроизведения FHD видео с включенным Wi-Fi и максимальной яркости экрана планшет разрядился чуть более чем за 6 часов. При запуске 3D-игр стоит рассчитывать максимум на 3-4 часа непрерывной работы. В повседневном режиме использования придётся заряжать планшет в среднем раз в двое суток. Полная зарядка батареи занимает чуть менее 2 часов.

В итоге

Acer Iconia Tab 8W (W1-810) станет хорошим выбором для тех, кому надоел Android или iOS. Данный планшет «заточен» под несложную работу, например, печать текста, работа в интернете или работа со специализированным ПО, которого нет под другие операционные системы. В целом, устройство оставляет хорошее впечатление, качественный экран, хорошее качество изготовления, полноценная Windows. Но есть и минусы, игр, в которые можно комфортно поиграть на этом планшете, совсем немного, классический интерфейс с ярлыками не очень удобен.

Цена Acer Iconia Tab 8W (W1-810) на данный момент составляет около 8000 рублей, что вполне приемлемо за устройство с такими характеристиками и возможностями.

The blacks are dark, the whites are really light, and the colors in between pop as if they were on a rainbow. You’ll definitely notice a difference if you’re coming from a different machine–the Lenovo Tab M8 does color really well.

This tablet also excels when it comes to battery life. You would expect that a tablet this small may have made sacrifices when it came to the battery, but the M8 boasts up to 15 hours battery life.

That is more than enough time to last through your work or school day and then some. It’s also way better than similar tablets this size.

The processing power in this machine won’t blow you away, but it more than gets the job done for an 8 inch tablet.

With an Intel Atom Z3745 and 2GB of DDR3 RAM, it has more than enough under the hood to get the job done, whatever that job may be.

This product is also incredible portable, as you would expect an 8 inch tablet to be. It comes with a stylus pen (as we discuss below) that is small but effective, adding extra functionality without sacrificing portability.
