UPDATE: Went to Intel site looking for drivers. Found a possibility (see picture).

Looks like this might be a solution but I do not know how to:
Download it.
Install it.
Test it.

Nobody reads them to get info about your system.

The iwlwifi driver should already be installed. Try sudo modprobe iwlwifi in a terminal.

I found this last night, I believe from the Dell web site under Linux (Downloads?). I am guessing this might be a BIOS update? Not sure what it is or what to do with it. Saved it just in case.

I have a Dell XPS 15 and also use an Intel 9260 wifi chip I put in. A few things to note and check.

Kernel 5.3+ has some known issues with the iwlwifi modules. actually kernel 5.3 has many issues (not a Mint issue, just upstream kernel regressions). I remain on the LTS kernel 4.15 or 5.0 until some of those are ironed out. My iwlwifi would just puke and drop on kernel 5.3. So if you can try booting in to 4.15 LTS or even 5.0 kernel to try that.

Addendum: I forgot to mention this, you can easily update your Dell firmware in Linux via the command line without installing anything too, because Linux is awesome and Mint also includes the utilities in their install. This should work on your Dell model, I use it on mine:

9260ngw driver windows 7

I recently upgraded my wifi module laptop from Realtek to Intel 9260NGW.

Couple of issues have popped up.

1. Latest drivers software is causing problems with connectivity. I am only able to connect to open wifi networks. WPA2 AES networks are not connecting at all while always asking for the wifi key in each connection attempt.

I tmost probably assume this is an authentication issue.

Last working driver: 21.10 0.X
Laptop: HP 15-da0020tx
Processor: Core I5-8250U

I also tried connecting with AX200NGW module and faced the issues.

Windows Ver: 20H2 (Latest) upgraded from 2004 but Still the problem persists.

However, I don’t have Bluetooth connectivity issues. Working alright last time I checked. Links with my phone and wireless earbuds.

We understand that you did a wireless integration ¹ in your laptop and you are having authentication issues with Intel® Wireless-AC 9260 and Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200.

In order to check this further, could you please confirm the following information?

3- Please confirm the full-exact number of the last working driver » 21.10 0. X «. Also, did you get this driver from Intel, Windows® Update or from HP* (or using HP* driver tools like «HP Support Assistant*»)?

4- Is there any error message? Or is there an error code in Device Manager?

5- Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks? Is this issue happening at home, office environment, or both?

6- Please provide the brand and model of the different Routers/Access Points (AP) that you have tested so far.

7- Have you tried rebooting your access-point, router, modem?

Also, please run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach the report to this thread to gather more details about your system.

Vice versa, I installed the 9260NGW on my older HP 15-bs with successful integration along with driver Ver. 21.110.1.1 and the newer Ver. 22.10.0.7 with both driver versions working smoothly.

WPA2 Personal AES. However, when I disable the Wifi security Key/password and thereby making the same AP as an open access one, then I am able to successfully connect along with the internet access establishes*.

21.10.1.2 is the working Driver, which is the Preloaded Windows Default driver. Windows self-installed this driver upon initial integration. Windows Update Service later upgraded the Driver to Ver. 21.110.1.1 and later the intel driver & support assistant updated it to Ver. 22.10.0.7

4- Is there any error message? Or is there an error code in Device Manager?

I cannot recall any such event. I just mention driver functioned normally.

5- Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks? Is this issue happening at home, office environment, or both?

I did try with different AP/Networks all same results. As I mentioned above* in question #2 When I disable Wifi Security and make it OPEN ACCESS in each network, then I am able to connect and access internet.

6- Please provide the brand and model of the different Routers/Access Points (AP) that you have tested so far.

TP Link TL-MR3420 Ver. 2, TP Link TL-WA850RE Ver. 2, TOZED ZLT P28 (provided by myISP) and Google WiFi Mesh*,

*Did not try to connect as an open network.

7- Have you tried rebooting your access-point, router, modem?

Intel 9260NGW PCI-E

Кто-то использует? Поделитесь впечатлениями. У меня изменилась схема подключения к Интернет, и чтобы не устраивать монтажей, хочу обойтись беспроводным подключением.

PS: на али чуть не в каждом лоте с этим товаром пишут, что может не поддерживаться матерями с чипами от AMD, никто не владеет детальной информацией на этот счёт?

Странно. Судя по ark.intel.com 9260 это настоящий pcie. 9560, 9461, 9462 это cnvi, которые работают только в паре с интеловскими процессорами.

Если не ошибаюсь, он часто встроен в материнские платы для AMD.

вы сами поняли, что вы написали? Я не понял.

Можете конкретную модель написать?

Очень интересно, прям сегодня задумался о том, чтоб взять себе такой в ноут. В очередной раз отвалился чертов QCA6174, задрало уже. А этот вроде прям официальненько поддерживается интелом, и отзывы очень хорошие. Послежу за темой.

В чипсетах 300 серии и в SoC-ах Gemini Lake есть Integrated Wireless-AC MAC. Ему нужен Companion RF module. Связь между integrated mac и companion rf идет по линиям PCIe, но протокол там не PCIe, а CNVio.

9560, 9461, 9462 это как раз companion rf module и работает только с 300 серией чипсетов и с soc-ами Gemini lake (pentium j5000/n5000, celeron j4000/n4000).

9260 это полноценный PCIe адаптер.

я купил на Aliexpress в магазине Fenvi это:

в этом магазине есть много чего. В том числе PCI-E коробочки с разными карточками внутри и (надо быть внимательным) коробочки без карточек.

Мне Intel 9260 AC не подошло из-за непонятного глюка с драйвером в Windows 10 (синий экран. Может и можно устранить, но мне было лень разбираться). В качестве альтернативы думаю там же купить карточку Bigfoot Killer Wireless-AC 1435 Atheros QCNFA344A и вставить в эту коробочку

Должна быть совместима с Linux. Теперь Atheros принадлежит Broadcom, но у адаптеров Broadcom, которые не Atheros, могут быть проблемы с драйвером для Linux.

Карточки и коробочки бывают на 2 и 3 антенны, что надо учитывать, если покупать их отдельно.

Intel 9260 меня заинтересовало из-за поддержки Bluetooth 5. Пока у меня нет таких устройств, но будут. Однако теперь просто куплю адаптер Bluetooth 5, который на Aliexpress стоит 800 рублей.

У Atheros проблем с дровами под Linux не меньше. Вот прям выше я написал, что задумался о покупке 9260 после того, как в очередной раз отвалилась Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174. При этом для ее работоспособности надо найти на гитхабе неофициальное зеркало linux-firmware, там найти определенный pull-реквест и в комментариях к нему какой-то левый чувак выложил блоб, который хотя бы так работает. То, что идет в linux-firmware по умолчанию, уже несколько лет не работает от слова «вообще» или почти вообще. Нормально работающего драйвера нет в принципе. Проблема известна, багтрекеры завалены, но всем как всегда. Надеюсь, хотя бы с интелом ситуация получше будет.

У Atheros проблем с дровами под Linux не меньше

Меньше. У меня сейчас TP-Link TL-WDN4800 на Atheros AR9380, уже давно. Совершенно стабильно работает в Windows и Linux, причем драйвер для Linux не надо ставить, он уже есть в ядре. Хороший адаптер, но его уже нет в продаже. Видел на eBay по завышенной цене.Заказал вот упомянутый мной Atheros Bigfoot Killer Wireless-AC 1435, чтобы испытать с уже имеющимся переходником.
