I got the same card from the same seller. Supposedly it’s been used by Apple in some retina MBPs, although I can’t find any actual evidence of that. I’m still trying to get it working fully in OS X (10.11.4). Haven’t even tried Windows yet.

When you say it works like a charm, what version of OS X are you using it on, and did you need to run the Continuity Activation Tool to get continuity working?

I also purchased that same card for my 2009 5.1 Mac Pro. I managed to get it installed and showing up in the system report but I couldn’t get my Magic Mouse and Apple BT keyboard to connect so I removed it and reinstalled the Apple original WIFI card and hooked the Apple original BT card back up.(whew!) It may have been because I didn’t disconnect and reconnect my MM and KB. I kept the card but connected a large external antenna to the Apple BT card. I still had intermittent connection issues but lately it’s been working perfectly. Maybe one of the latest El Capitan updates helped? I’m using ethernet for my internet now (much faster).

I believe I’m using Bootcamp 6.0 now to boot into Windows 7. At least that’s the version in the utility folder. There is a Windows 10 upgrade available in W7 tray but when I click on it, though it tries to run, it immediately quits. I’ve been getting my W7 updates no problem. I hid the Windows 10 upgrade icon when it first showed up so maybe that’s an issue.

I just have Windows installed to be familiar with it in case I go the PC route when my cMac Pro needs replacing. I booted into Windows 7 a few days ago and had no Bluetooth and apparently it is now not supported by Windows 7. It was working a few months ago? I could try reinstalling the WIFI/BT card but I’ll just use my Apple USB mouse and KB for now.

Well, Bluetooth is working agin in Windows 7. It must have been fixed by an update.

Как было анонсировано в первичной статье по обновлению старого доброго iMac mid-2011 27’’, неприоритетная задача по апгрейду беспроводной связи плавно перетекла в реализованное на 100% решение, которое работает и при этом не выглядит как нагромождение проводов под капотом iMac.

Итак, в комплектации 2011 года iMac поставляется с двумя раздельным модулями беспроводной связи:
— Wi-Fi-модуль Airport Extreme (чипсет Atheros 9380), с поддержкой протоколов 802.11 a/b/g/n и скорости передачи данных до 300 Мбит/с;
— модуль Bluetooth 2.1 (чипсет BCM92046MD).

С 2011 года прогресс не стоит на месте, и сейчас доступны 802.11ac с запредельной скоростью передачи данных до 1200 Мбит/сек и Bluetooth 4.0…4.2. В мире Apple это явилось в том числе в виде технологии Handoff/Continuity, которая, несомненно, упрощает жизнь пользователям яблочной продукции.
Увы, но моему iMac это было бы недоступно, если бы не…

Теория переходников

В 2012 году Apple радикально сменила форм-фактор карт беспроводной связи для iMac, объединив Wi-Fi и Bluetooth в один модуль.
И если конкретно в моём iMac mid-2011 модуль Airport вставлялся в разъём mini PCI-Express, то в 2012 году появился кастомный 18-пиновый разъём, сильно уменьшенный в размерах:

Технологичный народ быстренько сопоставил набор линий старого и нового поколения карточек, и миру явились такие изящные образцы:

Выглядит специфично, но всё же это были робкие попытки скрестить старые технологии с современными, и со временем появились переходники вполне человеческого облика:

Гипотетически, если новый Airport вставить в слот, сам переходник с картой — в штатный слот iMac и вуаля! — всё должно работать!

Нюансы переходника

Но не всё так просто: перелопатив в процессе исследования темы груду материалов с профильных сайтов, я вывел для себя следующие тезисы:

С учётом вышесказанного, становится актуальным вопрос: откуда подать две линии данных, питание и антенный кабель?

Оказывается, в iMac есть такой набор: в штатном модуле Bluetooth!

Снизу вверх: 3,3 Вольта, D-, D+. В углу карточки также есть разъём для подключения антенны Bluetooth.

Поэтому я тщательно проанализировал выполненные решения и сгенерировал своё.

Комплектующие

Для начала был закуплены переходник с разведёнными на плате контактами подключения D-/D+, 3,3 Вольта и удлинитель для антенны Bluetooth длиной 50 см (взял с запасом, и это пригодилось впоследствии).

Донором заводского разъёма SM06B-SHLS-TF данных USB и питания 3,3 В стал сам собственно модуль Bluetooth BCM92046MD, докупленный отдельно:

Разумеется, изводить работающую плату неблагодарное дело, но Apple в своём обыкновении применяет очень редкие разъёмы SM06B-SHLS-TF: приходится выкручиваться

Наконец, сам оригинальный комбо-модуль Airport Extreme BCM94360CD был заказан с российского сайта weepro.ru: удалось обойтись без китайщины с бесконечно долгой доставкой и отбитыми SMB-элементами.

Доработка переходника

При детальном рассмотрении карточки-переходника выяснилось, что линии P18 и P1 соединены между собой дорожкой печатной платы, а это значит, что для организации раздельного питания 3,3 Вольт её требуется перерезать:

К разъёму SM06B-SHLS-TF были подпаяны проводки (кстати, с оригинального кабеля зарядки iPhone) с соблюдением цветовой дифференциации.

Обращает на себя внимание то, что красный провод питания был чуть толще проводов данных USB, белого и зелёного (респект, Apple!).

Чтобы не уродовать внешний вид переходника, все работы по организации разводки проводов и их пайки решил проводить с обратной стороны платы.

И если с проводами данных USB никаких сложностей не было — достаточно подпаять к разъёму белый и зеленый провода и дотянуть их до пятаков на платке, то с питанием 3,3 Вольта пришлось заморочиться: нужный пятачок находится на лицевой стороне, и мне совсем не хотелось припаивать провод сверху и заводить его на обратную сторону по краю карточки.

Решение есть: рядом с пятаком проделано отверстие (аккуратно, чтобы не задеть дорожки), красный провод пропущен с обратной стороны и аккуратной точкой припаян.

Сам разъём был намертво приклеен суперклеем к переходнику.

На мой взгляд, получилось вполне аккуратно и соответствует по концепции (не по реализации) инженерному гению потрохов iMac:

Кабель питания и данных USB

Согласно сформулированной концепции, штатный кабель питания и данных, подходящий к штатному модулю Bluetooth, был развёрнут на 180° и подведён к карте Airport.

В процессе разворота выяснилось, что под блоком питания изоляция кабеля снята и фольгой-скотчем приклеена к корпусу iMac (полагаю, для организации земли), но это не проблема — кабель был продет через штатное отверстие в перегородке блока питания и был так же прикреплён к корпусу фольгированным скотчем.

Проделав в перегородке-опоре карты Aiport паз, пропустил кабель непосредственно к месту установки Airport Extreme и подключён к приклеенному разъёму SM06B-SHLS-TF на переходнике:

Антенна Bluetooth

С антенным кабелем Bluetooth была задумка нарастить при помощи удлинителя, без перепайки. Но благодаря хрупкости пайки китайских товарищей и моей криворукости паять всё-таки пришлось:

Кабель аналогично продёрнут под блоком питания и выведен в полость под жёстким диском разъёмом вертикально вниз.

Штатную карточку BCM92046MD оставил на месте как немое напоминание технологий прошлого поколения

Антенны Wi-Fi

Ввиду того, что направление разъёмов антенн штатного и нового адаптеров Airport различается (на Atheros они «смотрят» вперед, а на BCM94360CD — назад), пришлось пересобрать всю конструкцию антенных проводов Wi-Fi с правильным разворотом разъёмов на 180°:

Стандартный жёсткий диск довольно сильно мешает правильной компоновке проводов, поэтому я внёс изменения в штатную конструкцию: была применена электрическая клемма на 4 провода с выпотрошенными внутренностями (металлическими контактами).

Функции этой клеммы следующие:
— направляющая: 4 кабеля (3 Wi-Fi + 1 Bluetooth) продеты каждый по своим каналам и можно довольно точно подвести каждый кабель к разъёму на карте Airport;
— поворотная: чтобы избежать возни проводов, сразу после клеммы провода заведены под жёсткий диск и уже фольгированным скотчем прикреплены к алюминиевому корпусу iMac. Таким образом, колодка разгружает хрупкие разъёмы Airport, и перегиб проводов начинается на расстоянии 1 см:

После инспекции подключения собираем iMac и включаем. Так получилось, что загрузилась Windows 10 с Bootcamp, но! — драйвера ставить не потребовалось и система распознала изменения Wi-Fi и Bluetooth!

Перегружаемся в High Sierra и любуемся результатом в System profiler:

[Solved] Windows driver for BCM94360CS2

I’m in the process of putting together a machine that I intend to turn into a hackingtosh, however I cant seem to find windows driver for the PCIE wifi & Bluetooth card. anyone have a link to where to get this? I have searched google but cant seem to find one yet.

I’m trying to make sure that all my components work 100% before trying to build the hackingtosh.

Thanks for that link Brebo, however I purchased all the components for this build as either new or used parts, so I installed windows 10 pro first in attempt to confirm all the components work. which they do, but the wifi & Bluetooth card was not being recognised in the windows device manager so wasn’t able to confirm those worked correctly. I have now found windows drivers for this card and now confirmed that both the driver works and that wifi and Bluetooth work within windows 10 anyway.

I am in Windows while I wait for my SSD to come, and the WLan driver works, but I can’t find the Bluetooth device in the device manager. Any cues?

Sorry to reopen this thread malcky. I am in a similar situation as edeag3 was in.. I took the BCM94360CD2 from an old MBA and got the M.2 adapter for it. I am in Windows while I wait for my SSD to come, and the WLan driver works, but I can’t find the Bluetooth device in the device manager. Any cues?

As far as I can remember, when I installed windows 10 Pro using the parts I bought. the device manager had some unknown devices or didn’t show on device manager at all for bluetooth or wifi, but when I installed the above driver everything appeared and worked correctly after that.

If you have already installed that driver and the bluetooth device is still not being found, then im a bit stumped and can only think of the following things to look at:

Could one of the small pin leads have popped off the card during the install?
Is the card a known WORKING card to start with?
Is there a bluetooth enable ON/OFF option in your bios?

Apologies, don’t want to treat this issue board like a forum, but before I purchase / be the guinea pig, wondered if anyone had used a BCM94360NG with HaC-Mini and had any success?

Did a search but could only find links to it, no reports of anyone actually using one.

Basically I don’t think this is an Apple Airport Card. And searching on Taobao (native AliExpress in China) there’s no result about this BCM94360NG, which is very weird. The picture is not photographed but basically a drawing. With all of these, and shipping from China, I would think there’s something not quite right XD.

But hope you’ll have a good result. Anyway I do suggest using an Apple Card, whether if you’re using a flex cable adapter or giving up a M.2 slot.

I already had an Apple Airport Card, adapter and associated cables on order. My colleagues at Broadcom insist there is no such part BUT also conceded it would be easy to build using existing components. Only time will tell.

TL;DR: Yes! I can confirm that BCM94360NG works really well! NO PATCH NEEDED!

After reading this comment #191 (comment) and carefully inspecting what the listing says, I decided to give it a shot. Because the listing says the seller is based in the USA, I was hoping the card to arrive in at least two weeks. Oddly enough, the seller is actually based in Shenzhen and the card was shipped out by SF-Express the very next business day. Within 24h I have received this card.

Upon the first boot after installation, Wi-Fi was already up on the login screen. After logging in, the system just couldn’t discover my Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard, although my NVIDIA SHIELD TV in the next room was instantly discovered.

Of course, I wouldn’t want to give up that easily. I rebooted macOS, and now everything seems to work! I even tried several reboots and everything still works like a charm, including AirDrop & Continuity!

PS: I’m on macOS Catalina 10.15.3. I haven’t tested it on Windows yet (I have a dual-disk dual-boot setup) but I have no reason to think this won’t on Windows.

PS2: My magic keyboard & magic trackpad works during system boot (so you can make changes to the BIOS or select a different boot device) and in the OpenCore picker UI. It’s a BIG PLUS!

长话短说:BCM94360NG 在我的机器上工作得很好,不需要安装任何补丁或者驱动。

安装后的第一次启动,在登录界面上 Wi-Fi 已经自动边上了。登录之后,系统没有认出来我的 Magic Trackpad 和 Magic Keyboard,但是隔壁房间的 NVIDIA SHIELD TV 直接就认出来了。

我尝试重启了一下系统,重启完了之后键盘和触摸板都能认出来了,而且工作得很正常。我又尝试了几次重启,都没有问题,irDrop 和 Continuity 也是完美了!

另外系统版本是 10.5.3,还没有测试 Windows(双硬盘双启动),但是相信不会有问题。可以直接 用蓝牙键盘按 F2 进入 BIOS 或者在 OpenCore 的菜单里移动选择。
