Windows 20

Эта тема была вдохновлена концептом с названием «Windows 20» от Avdan. Конечно, перенести дизайн полностью не вышло, но максимально приблизиться к оригиналу получилось. Тут и иконки в стиле Fluent Design, и закругления на месте.

Dracula

Надоели скучные монохромные темы? На этот случай есть Dracula, которая привносит больше красок в оформление системы. Вместо оттенков серого, преобладают фиолетовые тона и градиенты. Как устанавливать темы для Windows 10

Основой всех тем для Windows является приложение под названием UltraUXThemePatcher. Оно активирует поддержку сторонних пакетов оформления. Устанавливаем его и перезагружаем компьютер.

Для корректного отображения тем необходимо дополнительно установить ещё одно приложение — OldNewExplorer. С его помощью можно убрать ленту в «Проводнике», сделав файловый менеджер похожим на тот, что стоит в Windows 7.

К сожалению, единого метода для замены системных значков на кастомные нет, но в архивах с каждой темой есть инструкции в виде текстовых файлов, некоторые из них требуют установки дополнительного ПО.

Внимание! Всегда делайте точку восстановления системы перед любыми модификациями Windows.

I just upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8.1. I had created my own theme in windows 8.1 with my own pictures, I would occasionally add or remove pictures from my custom theme. In windows 10, my theme is still there but I can’t figure out how to add or remove certain photos. I also don’t have the original pictures on my computer because I dragged and dropped them into the theme on windows 8.1Where are the themes’ pictures files stored? Or how can I edit my theme like I did in windows 8.1?

It would have been nice had you actually answered the question. The Windows 8 Theme instructions no longer apply to Windows 10.

Where are the themes’ pictures files stored (in Windows 10)? Or how can I edit my theme like I did in windows 8.1?

Here is the actual answer:

Go to File Explorer:

Which will take you to wherever your default themes are saved.

And there you can access the folders containing the pictures for each theme and add/delete and so forth.

I had to ask a friend since the Microsoft answers were lacking, pointing to old information or nonexistent.

Nope! I search my entire computer running Windows 10 for the file location for themes.

it search for over 2 hours and never found the location.

I can confirm this is correct. You simply change in your windows explorer to SHOW HIDDEN FILES, FOLDERS and OBJECTS. Then you can drill down to the themes folder. And I can confirm that you can copy THEMES from one computer to another and they work (This was tested copying from a Windows 10 32bit system to Windows 10 32bit system). After you copy the themes to the new system you can then go into PERSONALIZATION/THEMES in your Windows 10 Settings and you will see all your themes on your new computer. This alleviates having to find and download them again and the reason I researched this was because one of my favorite themes was no longer available for download but with the advent of this I will now simply copy the Themes to a new computer rather than download. Much faster.

Windows 10 can be customized using themes, wallpapers, and lock screen images. Just like any other wallpapers and lock screen images, Windows 10 stores Themes in a dedicated location. They are like an archive file that stores wallpapers, pictures, effects, and audio files.

Where does Windows 10 store Themes

When creating or modifying themes using Windows 10 Personalization feature, you must have changed the wallpaper, sound, and other things. Once adjusted, they can be saved under a different name. Every theme you install is available under a different name, and a new theme file is created.

If you want to share a beautiful theme you created with someone else or want to copy it to another computer, there is no direct option. That’s why it becomes necessary to find the Windows 10 Store Themes. To do this-

Copy-paste the following and hit Enter:

File Explorer will open with a list of folders and theme files.

You can copy these files and place them in the same location, but on a different computer and they will appear in Windows 10 Settings > Personalization > Themes.

When you download a theme from Windows 10 Store, it will be available in this folder.

I downloaded the Autumn Colors theme from the Microsoft store. It became available in an Autumn Co subfolder under this folder:

The wallpapers were present in the “DesktopBackground” folder, while the rest of the files are available in the theme file.

There are two themes usually available in this folder: Custom and Roamed. “Custom” theme comes into the picture when you modify existing theme files. “Roamed” is when you choose to sync themes between multiple computers. It will work when you use the same Microsoft account on different Windows 10 devices.

Location Of Themes In Windows 10

Desktop themes were first introduced with Windows 7, and the feature is part of the latest Windows 10 as well. A desktop theme generally includes one or more wallpapers. Besides that, a desktop theme might also contain sound schemes, icons, screensavers, and window color scheme.

There are hundreds of beautiful themes available to download from Windows Store as well as the official Windows personalization gallery. You will find plenty of excellent quality third-party themes as well.

One can find all installed themes in Windows 10 by navigating to Settings > Personalization > Themes page. The Themes page lists all themes, including built-in themes.

As you might have noticed, when you right-click on a theme on the Themes page, it offers you only the Delete option to delete the selected theme. There is no option out there to save a theme. You might want to save a downloaded theme (a theme installed from Store) or might want to save only the wallpapers from a theme.

Users who download themes from the Microsoft personalization gallery or third-party websites won’t come across this situation as they first download the themes before applying it. Location of installed themes in Windows 10

Step 1: Open the Run command box, copy, and paste the following path in the box.

%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

Press the Enter key to open the Themes folder.

Step 2: The Themes folder contains all installed themes. You can double-click on a theme’s folder to see the desktop theme file as well as the Desktop Background folder which includes all the wallpapers of that theme.

You may double-click on the desktop theme file to apply the theme.

If you want to backup or save a theme, copy the themes folder. Paste the theme’s folder in the %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes folder on any Windows 10 PC and then double-click on the desktop theme file located within the folder to apply the theme.

Method 2 of 2

Save an installed theme in Windows 10

Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Themes.

Step 2: Apply the theme that you want to save by clicking on it. Make sure that the theme is applied.

Step 3: Click on the Color icon and change the default color to something else and then select the original color again.
